The Guardian
We often hear the phrase “Love is Blind”, but when Paige Reynolds falls in love with a man that is not only unable to see her, but also completely oblivious to her existence, this mere cliché becomes an impossible obstacle she is intent upon overcoming, leaving them both in a situation that could be fatal.
As if being dead wasn’t bad enough, Paige Reynolds gets sent to be a Guardian to a Living Being whom – despite all attempts not to – she falls in love with. Paige is not the kind of girl to go falling in love with a stupid man, but Michael Hart isn’t just some stupid man. No, Michael Hart is, well, perfect. (Minus being a male nurse, being a dork in a corny band and having severe asthma of course.)
Ignoring all these feelings for Michael seems to be the best course of action, but unfortunately, since he can feel her every feeling and emotion, he starts to have the same feelings for Rachel who is all but available. Paige is supposed to influence him with her thoughts to do the right thing, not fall for best friend’s wife.
When Paige finds all her efforts to reverse what has happened fruitless, she realizes she’s not the only one who has been influencing the situation. Unfortunately Cassandra, a Dark Soul seems to have taken a liking to Paige and is intent upon turning her. Cassandra offers Paige the solutions to all her problems and a way to give into her desires.
If she takes Cassandra’s suggestion she is giving up on Heaven for an eternity of service in Hell. However, if she does not, she will have to watch as Cassandra places the lives of everyone Michael loves in mortal danger.
