19  Not So VERY Important Things You Should Know About Marybeth!

1. Although I’m in my late 20’s, I look like like I’m 18. They say this is a good thing, but I won’t realize it for at least another 10 years.

2. I’m incredibly sarcastic. I hope I can find an agent who is witty and entertaining. Someone  to keep me smiling through all the ups and downs of becoming published.

3. My favorite genre is Fantasy, but I feel ridiculous admitting it.

4. While pursuing my career as a writer I became hopelessly addicted to Blogging and most other Social Media. I’ve acquired numerous acquaintances and friends who have helped me through this journey and for that I am eternally grateful. If it were not for sites like Blogger, Facebook and Twitter I may never have met these people and may have given up long ago!

5. I ADORE music! I almost tried out for American Idol once, but chickened out, so I bought the video game and became The Next American Idol on that instead!

6. I am infatuated with gnomes. I collect them. I take pictures with them. I travel with them.

7. I come from a very large family. I have 2 sisters and 3 brothers. It was sort of like the Brady Bunch growing up, just without an Alice.

8. My most favorite smell in the entire world fresh cut grass. GAP has a perfume. It is heavenly!

9. I am a Stay at Home Mom with three beautiful and incredibly entertaining children.

10. I am married to the most talented and creative man alive (Ok, so I’m biased!) He created this website and designed my blog. I’m quite lucky he keeps me around! (Or is it vice versa???)

11. I started writing when I was 13 and I have not stopped since. I am ALWAYS writing or thinking about writing. It cannot be controlled and I’m pretty sure there is no shut off button.

12. I love cheese. In pretty much every form. Everything tastes better covered in cheese.

13. If I could travel back in time I would probably find myself in the 1800’s. I’m not sure what draws me to that era, considering I think I’m entirely all to prissy to live without showers and electricity, but the fancy clothing and lack of technology intrigues me.

14. I was once asked what makes me swear. Simple answer…a few glasses of wine.

15. I could spend an entire week in my bed relaxing and surrounded by books. It would be a dream come true to sit and read and sleep for seven days straight. I know most people would choose an exotic island, and yes that would be lovely too, but I adore my blankets and pillows too much not to give them first priority.

16. My  favorite Author of All time is Margaret Wise Brown. Anyone who can say goodnight to a bowl full of mush is truly talented!

17. I despise tall women who wear heels. I think it’s totally unnecessary. If you are over 5′1″ and intend to wear heels, I intend to refuse walking beside to you! (Of course I’m not bitter…why would you think I was bitter???)

18. I LOVE the rain! The sound, the smell, the look. I’m a sucker for a great thunder storm.

19. My goal in life is to not only be a published author, but also appear on the New Your Times Best Sellers List

Marybeth Smith sat down one day after finishing Twilight for the 3rd time, having already read the Harry Potter series 4 times, and decided there was no other option for her, she HAD to write a story of her own. Although she knew she was being selective and there were plenty of other books out there to read, she just could not  broaden her horizons until she had tried to write a novel herself. So on September 21st, 2008 she opened up her notebook and wrote the first draft of the first paragraph of a book that would fuel her desires to one day become a published author.

This website is a tribute to the hard work and dedication Marybeth has put into becoming a novelist and published author. With her perseverance and tenacious will to one day be on the New York Time’s Best Seller list, she is sure to fulfill even her wildest dreams!
